Anansi Boys by Neil GaimanMy review
rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is hard to classify. Fat Charlie (thanks to his dad for the lovely nickname!) discovers that his recently deceased father was the African god Anansi. Enter long-lost brother, Spider, and things really start to get quirky. Part hi-jinks, part crime drama, part fable, part ghost story--all the threads weave together to make for an enjoyable and compelling read. Simple yet sophisticated, the story both amused and charmed me.
